Accommodation

Llechwedd Fwyalchen sits quietly in the foothills of the mighty mountain, Aran Benllyn. This house has lived for centuries and has watched the world around it grow weary with the noise and disruption that modern life so often brings. It has jealously guarded its own position and waits for you to discover the tranquillity it offers. The name Llechwedd Fwyalchen translates as "on the slope of the blackbird" and because of its colour scheme, Blackbird Cottage would be an apt English translation for the name of this 17th century traditional stone built Welsh farm cottage.

The house will comfortably sleep 6 people (1 king-size & 4 singles) in 3 bedrooms with plenty of room in each for a travel cot if you have one. Whilst the house is 17th century the facilities are definitely 21st century. It is fully equipped with microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, TV/DVD and internet WiFi amongst other things. The house is in the Snowdonia National Park but is far from the frantic tourist sites that can so unfortunately destroy the character of an area. This area is a rural farming location that takes place on the gentle slopes of Aran Benllyn, one of the highest mountains in Wales. If it's company you want, you may see the shepherd tending his flocks or giving his beautiful black Welsh cattle all the care a man of the earth can possess.
